A friend recently sent me a link to http://www.barnstormers.com to point out a Falconar F11-3 that was for sale. The aircraft looked so good that I decided to give the builder, Ed Banks, a call. We had a great chat! It was immensely enjoyable to talk to someone with first hand knowledge and experience. To show my appreciation to Ed for his pleasant manner and for sharing so freely, I decided to give him a little help selling this beautiful aircraft.
Jodel F11-3 for Sale $16,500:
This
Falconar F11-3, started in 1996 and licensed in 2002, has everything you need:
- folding wing,
- All wood covered, no fabric. Wood is covered with 1.47 oz
fiberglass. Painted with Polyfiber system and color sanded. So
smooth it looks like composite.
- Spring aluminum landing gear,
- Cleveland wheels and brakes. Toe brakes on the left side,
- VFR panel,
- Stratus Subaru EA-81 Engine - 100 hp.
- Ivoprop ground adjustable, plus a Culver 72/42 climb prop.
If you prefer to install your own engine, the aircraft can be purchased without engine for $9,500. Ed is willing to give a hand with the installation.
Contact Ed Banks at 610-759-4032 - 12 noon to 12 midnight East coast time Nazareth, Pa.
Reason for selling: He built a smaller single place airplane. This is the fourth airplane he has built.
Thank-you again Ed!

Little was accomplished on the aircraft this week but this was offset by the
privilege of visiting a fellow builder, Egon. It was abundantly
obvious that Egon was a wealth of knowledge and experience on the Falconar F11A,
of which I took full
advantage, and he generously shared. The following pictorial is made up of
some older pictures and some I took myself. I am extremely grateful for
Egon's hospitality and kindness.

Tools and Jigs
Special Note
Egon, a retired machinist, built his own PSRU. The workmanship was extraordinary.
A great help in building the fuselage, a fuselage rotating jig.
Egon build his hinges from stainless steel and aluminum. The bushing is an Oilite bushing. Machined to the highest tolerances, the hinges will definitely outlast the Falconar F11A airframe. Great work Egon! Many thanks again!
