Welcome to the Falconar F11A Aircraft web site. This web site is dedicated to my experience building the Falconar F11A "Sporty" aircraft from Falconar Avia Inc. I hope you will enjoy it. Please understand that the information on this site describes my construction of my F11A aircraft. Following tips or techniques found on this site is at your own risk and should be done with caution and reference to your local regulations. I take no responsibility for the accuracy of this information, nor for any damage that might be caused by using this information. If you see something that is not accurate, have something that might be of interest or just want to talk Falconars, then drop me a note with the link below or on the left.

Between finishing the construction of my own aircraft, making a living, raising my kids, and keeping my wife happy, not a whole lot of time remains to take care of this site but I do try to make regular updates.

In any case, Have fun!

PROGRESS UPDATES:

Jan 2, 2020 - Life events changed again - I'm now back in Ontario and this aircraft build has come to an unfortunate end for me.  The aircraft is for sale and I hope to find a new owner to finish it.

Sept 8, 2019 - Great News!!  Live events change and so does the fortunes of this aircraft build.  I should be getting back to work on the aircraft in a few months!

April 1st, 2019 - It has been a long time since my last update.  I now live in Southern Saskatchewan, 3000km from the location (Ontario, Canada) of my last update.  Along with my full time job, I now flip houses on the side leaving me no time to continue the construction of this aircraft.   She sits in a crate waiting for me to restart.

Oct 2nd, 2010 -

Another 9 months have passed with little or no work on the aircraft.  Life events and priorities are to blame.  Just as I got back to work on the aircraft last Jan/Feb, the company I was working for went bankrupt.  The aircraft suddenly became a very low priority.  I found a job quickly enough but by the time everything settled, it was summer and the Honey to-do list was active.

We decided to delay the planned rebuild of the garage workshop for an additional year.  We wanted to be a little more prudent with money.  Unemployment - however brief - will do that to you.  We restricted the honey-do list to fixing a foundation wall, rebuilding the lot drainage system, digging out the septic tanks for a good cleaning, rebuilding the entrance porch, re-sealing the windows, installing a new vegetable garden, expanding the existing flower beds, drywalling one wall in the basement, and adding 8 metric tons of gravel to the driveway.   Add on top of that list, we took down 6 trees that had been damaged during a freezing rain storm.  It took several weekends to cut and split the wood down to firewood size.  Jeez - I'm tired just writing it.

Over 2 years have passed since the last work on the aircraft.  Quite a few changes have occurred during this period.   The aircraft building space problems were resolved with the purchase of a new house in Sept 2008. The detached double garage seemed to be the perfect space for construction.  A couple of months after we moved in, we built an insulated wall down the center of the garage to isolate one bay in order to create a work area for the aircraft.  Even with a new electric heating system, the first real cold days of winter revealed that the garage workshop could not be used.  The lack of adequate insulation in the walls and ceiling made it impossible to control the temperature.  The temperature swings ranged well outside the adhesive manufacturer's recommendations.  With no other place to build, the aircraft continued to wait for another year.

The summer was 2009 was  used to rebuild an addition on the house and remove other items other on the "honey-do" list.  This winter, the rebuilt addition (not yet completed) is being used as the aircraft workshop.

The permanent workshop will wait for the re-insulation of the garage that is  currently scheduled for the summer of 2010.

Its been a while since I updated the site.  A new job, a busy summer and the lack of space to assemble the larger aircraft parts have limited the work on the aircraft.
